India skipper Rahul Dravid credited the one-day international series-clinching victory over Pakistan to the team's youngsters, who, he said, excelled in all departments of the game.
"We have several young bowlers who responded positively to the challenge. The young legs in the field also made a difference restricting the Pakistan score," Dravid said after India won the fourth one-dayer by five wickets.
A "very proud" captain said the team had put its act together after losing the Test series as "it was not easy to beat a good Pakistan side".
"The boys did not need any lifting as they were very keen to do well after the disappointment of the Karachi Test," Dravid said.
"Losing the close first match in Peshawar was a disappointment but the win at Rawalpindi set us up for the series. Everyone performed well and it was a team effort."
Assessing the gains from the series, he said, "We are a young side and constantly learning and trying to improve. Hopefully, we can go from strength to strength."
Predicting a "tough series" against the visiting Englishmen, Dravid said Michael Vaughan's side had tasted a lot of success lately and the Indians would have to be at their best to beat them.
"But before that, we want to go to Karachi and finish the series on a good note," he added.
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq said his side never had enough runs to be competitive.
"The batsman are not scoring and luck also does not seem to favour us. Things are just not clicking," he said.
But he praised the Indians for playing well in all departments of the game.
"Losing to India always makes things difficult. But in one-day matches, one has to win and the other lose," Inzamam said philosophically.
Pakistan will give an opportunity in Karachi to players who have not had a game in the series and try to win that match, he said.
Man of the match Rudra Pratap Singh said he tried to bowl with good control to pressurise the batsmen and it resulted in him picking four wickets.
"Playing against Pakistan brings on added responsibility as there is always an added pressure in these matches," the Uttar Pradesh left-arm seamer said.
