Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar has been ruled out of the second one-day international against India to be played in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq said the pace spearhead had failed to recover from a strain in his ankle.
"He has been ruled out of tomorrow's match. We will see if he can play in the third match in Lahore," he said.
The Pakistan team management had earlier said that Shoaib missed the first ODI in Peshawar due to the rotation policy empolyed by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
