The Supreme Court on Friday restrained the Prasar Bharti from interfering with the telecast of the tri-series cricket in Sri Lanka [ Images ] involving India [ Images ], the US Open [ Images ] tennis championships, the World Cup hockey [ Images ] for men and women, and the Champions Trophy [ Images ] hockey, the exclusive telecast rights of which is with the Dubai-based Ten Sports.

A Bench, comprising Justice Ashok Bhan and Justice Markandey Katju, also directed Prasar Bharti not to take any coercive steps against the private television channel to bag the telecast of these events.
