Heaping more humiliation on Jagmohan Dalmiya, the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Monday suspended the former Board chief from attending all its meetings, a step which would isolate the Bengal strongman further from cricket administration.

The decision to suspend Dalmiya for "anti-Board activities" came barely a day after BCCI's Working Committee meeting, which had authorised its President Sharad Pawar to take a final decision on the matter.

"Dalmiya has been suspended from attending all meetings including the Annual General Body meeting," a highly-placed BCCI source said.

The suspension would remain in force till BCCI's Disciplinary Committee comprising, Shashank Manohar and Chirayu Amin, takes a final decision on the veteran administrator, who was regarded as the kingmaker in Indian cricket not too long ago.

Dalmiya's current plight is a result of a sustained campaign ever since the new regime headed by Pawar took over late last year after beating Dalmiya-backed nominee Ranbir Singh Mahendra.

The Board's Marketing Committee, which has a known Dalmiya baiter Lalit Modi as a key member, accused the Cricket Association of Bengal president of siphoning off funds to the tune of Rs 21.74 lakh from the 1996 World Cup account.

The Board subsequently filed an FIR with Mumbai Police and the matter is now in Mumbai high court.
