Showering praise on Sourav Ganguly for his all-round performance in the ongoing Duleep Trophy match against North Zone, East Zone coach Paras Mhambrey on Friday said the Bengal batsman had proved his form and fitness by scoring a sparkling hundred as well as taking crucial wickets.
His century pulled East Zone out of trouble, Mhambrey said, adding the former India skipper showed good footwork to display his trademark shots.
"Ganguly has shown that he has recovered from his tennis elbow," the coach told reporters after the second day's play in Rajkot.
The match was evenly poised and both teams had a chance, he said, but added that his side was better placed after claiming three crucial wickets at the end of the play.
