The Sri Lankan squad, led by Marvan Atapattu and comprising 15 players, plus an eight-strong support staff, arrived in Mumbai Thursday night via Chennai for the seven-match One-Day International Series against hosts India to be held from October 25-November 12.
The Lankan cricketers, accompanied by Australian-born coach Tom Moody, are to play a warm-up game in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium on October 22 against the MCA President's XI team led by Nilesh Kulkarni before leaving for Nagpur on October 23 for the first ODI scheduled on October 25.
The remaining six ODIs are scheduled to be held at Mohali (Oct 28), Jaipur (Oct 31), Pune (Nov 3), Ahmedabad (Nov 6), Rajkot (Nov 9) and Vadodara (Nov 12).
This is the first visit by the Sri Lankans to India in eight years. Their last tour was in the 1997-98 season.
