Australia elects to bat first vs World XI

Australia captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and chose to bat in the second one-day international against the World XI at the Docklands Stadium on Friday.

Both sides made one change from Wednesday's first match, won convincingly by Australia by 93 runs, with Australia pace bowler Glenn McGrath being rested after complaining about tightness in his legs, and replaced by debutant Stuart Clark.

West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has replaced Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi, who was the 'supersub' for the World XI in the first match.

Cameron White has been named Australia's 12th man, while Gayle is the World XI's 12th man. Both players can be tactically substituted during the course of the game.

Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Adam Gilchrist, Michael Hussey, Simon Katich, Brett Lee, Damien Martyn, Andrew Symonds, Shane Watson, Cameron White (12th man)

World XI: Shaun Pollock (captain), Shoaib Akhtar, Rahul Dravid, Andrew Flintoff, Jacques Kallis, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Kevin Pietersen, Kumar Sangakkara, Virender Sehwag, Daniel Vettori, Chris Gayle (12th man).
