Y Venugopal Rao [ Images ], who was dropped from the Indian ODI team, will lead the 12-member Board President's XI team for the one-off three-day match against Sri Lanka [ Images ] to be held in Bangalore from November 26.

The decision to appoint the Andhra youngster as captain was taken at a meeting of the National Selection Committee, headed by Chairman Kiran More, held in Chennai on Tuesday, BCCI Secretary S K Nair told reporters.

National selector and former India [ Images ] player V B Chandrasekhar will be the Manager of the team.
