The Magnificent March, 1995-2005

Australia started their golden run with the triumph in the West Indies in the 1994-95 series. They thus took over from the Caribbean kings as the 'unofficial' World champions.

They won the Frank Worrell trophy 2-1 and avenged the loss in Adelaide two seasons ago, when they fell two runs shy of the victory target. This time they left nothing to chance, beating the West Indies at Sabina Park, Jamaica by an innings and 53 runs in the fourth Test.

Australia had won the first match of the series by 10 runs. The second ended in a draw, but the hosts were back in the series with a crushing nine-wicket win in the third Test in Trinidad.

The fourth Test belonged to the Waugh twins. Steve scored a patient 200 off 425 balls while Mark sparkled with an elegant 126 from 192 balls.

Australia mounted a score of 531 and bowled out the Windies for 265 and 213 to claim supremacy in world cricket.
