Middle-order batsman V V S Laxman, who was felled by a short ball from Mohammad Sami on day 4 of the second Test at Kolkata, will be able to come out and bat again, sources in the team revealed.
Laxman was hit just above the left eye with a sickening thud when he tried to defend against a short ball but failed to make contact. There was instant swelling and it didn't look good. Help was called for and Laxman had to go off.
Team sources revealed that there is no cut. At the moment Laxman is under observation and the team management remains confident that the right-hander will be able to come out to bat once the swelling subsides.
