Indian all-rounder Dinesh Mongia had an average outing, but it was enough for Leicestershire to register a three-run victory over Durham in a Twenty20 Cup match in Leicester on Sunday.

Mongia, who scored 13, was unfortunately run-out as his team scored 150 for the loss of nine wickets.

The left-hander also failed to impress with the ball as he gave away 21 runs in three overs.

But Durham, who lost just five wickets, could not step up the tempo in the last few overs and fell short by three runs.

In other Twenty20 matches on Saturday, India captain Sourav Ganguly and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh ended on the losing side, while pace bowler Irfan Pathan finished on the winning side for Middlesex.

Ganguly, batting at no. 3 for Glamorgan, scored 36 from 35 balls, but could not prevent his side from going down to Warwickshire. Alex Loudon claimed 5 for 33 in his four overs as Warwickshire won by 54 runs.

Pathan turned in a fine all-round showing as Middlesex registered a comfortable 20-run victory over Kent.

The left-hander scored 11 from six balls (1 four, 1 six) as Middlesex scored 189 for 8 in their 20 overs. Kent's reply never got going as they ended up with 169 for 5 in their 20 overs. Pathan took 1 for 30 in his four overs.

Hampshire beat Surrey by three wickets despite fine bowling from the Surrey spinning duo of Harbhajan Singh and Nayan Doshi, son of former Indian Test spinner Dilip Doshi.

Batting first, Surrey were bowled out for a paltry 118 in 15.3 overs. Hampshire escaped with a three-wicket win victory after being reduced to 66 for 7 at one stage.

Harbhajan and Doshi caused problems for the Hampshire batsmen, claiming 2 for 22 and 2 for 16 respectively.
