On day one of the four day game at Lord's, Pathan at stumps had made 33 not out off 59 deliveries, with six fours, in Middlesex' score of 319/7.

For opponents Surrey, Bajji -- who, in the evening session, found himself bowling to Pathan -- had figures of 24-8-57-1, having taken the wicket of JWM Dalyrymple, the Middlesex top scorer (77 off 143). Dalyrymple and Pathan were engaged in a 24-run stand before the former's dismissal.
