The Sri Lankan Cricket Board on Saturday accepted India's proposal to split their upcoming tour into two halves.

"We have accepted the proposal to divide the tour. The seven ODIs will be played in October and the three Tests matches will be held in November-December," SLC's interim committee chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa told reporters in Kolkata.

India had proposed to play the series in two halves considering the cramped schedule from August this year.

The Lankans will be playing a full-fledged series in India for the first time in eight years.

India begin the season with a tri-series in Sri Lanka, where the West Indies will be the third team, from July 30 to August 9.

The Indians then tour Zimbabwe between August 24 and September 24 as they compete in another tri-series against the hosts and New Zealand before playing the African nation in two

Tests.

That will be followed by the ICC Super Series from October 5 to 10, pitting World champions Australia and a Rest of the World in three ODIs and a six-day Test.

On return, India is scheduled to take on the South Africans in five One-Day Internationals from November 17 to 29.
