The 36 Indian probables got cracking at the cricket skills camp on Thursday, with new coach Greg Chappell and his support staff seeking to get their act together.
But the nets session on the second day of the skills camp, at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, was cut short after an hour-and-a-half following rain in the afternoon. The players rushed back to the National Cricket Academy premises, where they resumed light training.
The players sought to make the most out of the short time available and went through batting, running, throwing and other cricket-related activities.
Trainer Gregory King, physio John Gloster and former Victoria player Ian Frazer, who specializes in sport science, put the players through various exercises.
Sachin Tendulkar, recuperating after his tennis elbow surgery in London recently, was also present on the ground. He is not part of the probables but came to the camp as per instruction of Chappell. He did not train.
The batting maestro chatted with some of the players as well as chairman of selectors Kiran More.
Team India captain Sourav Ganguly left for Kolkata in the evening and will fly to England on Friday to complete his county commitments with Glamorgan. He attended just two days of the camp, which continues till July 19.
Earlier, the probables interacted with 'De Bono' specialist Shiva Subramaniam on lateral thinking and how to enhance creativity and thinking skills.
Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag and Mohammed Kaif later turned up at the ground wearing 'thinking hats'.
On Wednesday, day one of the skills-specific camp, the players were iimparted 'Bono' therapy in a bid to enhance creativity and thinking skills and bettering their performance on the ground.
