Start of play on day 4 delayed

As has been the case for the last three days, the start of play on day four in the third and final Test between India [ Images ] and Sri Lanka [ Images ] was delayed due to heavy dew on the outfield.

The fourth day's play will start at 1000 IST, instead of the scheduled 0930 start.

India are in a commanding position, having scored a healthy 287 for 9 in their second innings at the end of day 3, a huge lead of 479 runs over Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Murali Karthik rejoined the Indian squad in Ahmedabad [ Images ] after playing for Railways in the Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai [ Images ].

He left on the eve of the third Test, on Saturday, to play in the match.
