Ambati Rayudu attacked

Upcoming cricketer Ambati Rayudu was attacked by a member of the rival team in the Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad Ranji Trophy match being played at Ananthapur on Sunday.

Rayudu, who has switched over to Andhra from Hyderabad, was attacked by Arjun Yadav with stumps after the latter was dismissed and a scuffle ensued, Andhra Cricket Association sources said.

However, the fighting duo was pacified by the team members and an inquiry was launched by match referee Suresh Deo, the sources said.

Hyderabad attained first innings lead and the second innings was in progress when the incident took place.
