Former one day international Jacob Martin slammed an unbeaten knock of 242 as Baroda cruised to a mammoth 562 for seven on day three of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match in Ghaziabad on Saturday.
Baroda were leading by 216 runs with three wickets remaining and Martin and P Shah (22) at the crease at the close of play.
Resuming at 268 for two, Baroda went past the 300 mark after which overnight centurion Connor Williams (138 off 242 balls, 13x4, 1x6) fell to Ashish Winston Zaidi.
Partnering Kiran Powar (51), Martin, however, took the score past the rival total and the former's departure had little impact on him as he milked the UP attack with consummate ease.
It in fact could have been worse for the hosts but spinner Piyush Chawla picked four middle order wickets to restrict Baroda to 526 for seven at stumps.
