· Mohammad Kaif (65) continued his brilliant batting form against Zimbabwe. Kaif has now aggregated 384 runs in eight matches against Zimbabwe at an average of 64.00 with one century and three fifties. In fact Kaif has only one single-digit score against Zimbabwe. Kaif's scores in 8 innings against Zimbabwe: 39*, 15, 56, 68, 5, 111*, 25 and 65.

· MS Dhoni's 56 is only the second fifty by an Indian wicket keeper against Zimbabwe after Rahul Dravid's 71 at Colombo (RPS) on September 14, 2002. It is, however, the highest score by an Indian wicket keeper on Zimbabwean soil bettering Dravid's unbeaten 43 at Harare on February 19, 2003

· The fifth wicket partnership of 103 runs between Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni is India's best for this wicket in Zimbabwe. This obliterated the 73-run partnership between Sanjay Manjrekar and Pravin Amre also against Zimbabwe at Harare on October 25, 1992.

· Zimbabwe's total of 65 is the lowest ever total made by any side against India in all ODIs. This obliterated Bangladesh's 76 at Dhaka in TVS Cup on April 11, 2003. Incidentally Zimbabwe's previous lowest against India was 133 at Harare on June 24, 2001.

· Zimbabwean innings lasted for only 24.3 overs - second shortest innings against India in which opposition team was bowled out. The record is still held by Sri Lanka, who were bowled out in 23 overs at Johannesburg on March 10, 2003 in World Cup.

· The victory margin of 161 runs is the sixth largest for India in all ODIs. It is, however, India's largest in a match against Zimbabwe putting in to shade the 115-run win at Singapore on September 4, 1999 in Coca Cola Cup.

· As many as nine Zimbabwean batsmen failed to reach into double figures. This is the maximum number of batsmen not reaching in double digits in a match against India. The previous record was of 8 single-digit scores on 15 occasions including the one for Zimbabwe at Perth on February 3, 2004 in VB Series.

· Irfan Pathan (5-27) returned his best figures in ODIs obliterating 4-24 also against Zimbabwe at Perth on February 3, 2004 in VB Series. His figures are also the best by any Indian bowler against Zimbabwe bettering Sourav Ganguly's 5-34 at Kanpur on Dec 11, 2000.

· At 20 years 306 days Pathan became the youngest Indian bowler to take a five-for in One-Day Internationals. The previous record was held by teammate Harbhajan Singh, who was 21 years and 215 days old when he claimed 5 for 43 against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 3, 2002.

· Ajit Agarkar (4-18) took four wickets in a match for the tenth time in his career. This puts him at par with Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble in the list of Indian bowlers with most four-wicket hauls. Interestingly Agarkar was playing only his 137th match, whereas both Kumble and Srinath had appeared in more than 200 ODIs while claiming their tenth four-for.

· Agarkar's economy rate of 2.00 (runs per over) in this match is the best of his ODI career (where he has bowled atleast one over). Agarkar had conceded 15 runs in 7 overs -- an economy rate of 2.14 -- against Kenya at Paarl on October 24, 2001 in Standard Bank Triangular Tournament.

· The highest partnership in Zimbabwean innings was of 22 runs between Heath Streak and Prosper Utseya for the tenth wicket. This was the fourth occasion when tenth wicket partnership was the best in an all-out innings against India. The details:

· Pathan won Man of the Match award for the second time in his ODI career. Interestingly his only other award had also come against Zimbabwe (at Perth on February 3, 2004).
