Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath is an injury doubt for the fourth Ashes Test against England in Nottingham starting on Thursday.
McGrath experienced pain in his right elbow during a practice session on Tuesday and was sent for a scan.
"He will continue to be treated and assessed and a further update on his fitness will be provided in due course," team physio Errol Alcott was quoted as saying on the Cricinfo website.
McGrath returned for the third, drawn Test in Manchester after injury caused him to miss the second match in Birmingham.
The 35-year-old stepped on a stray cricket ball shortly before the toss at Edgbaston, damaging ankle ligaments.
The five-match Ashes series is level at 1-1.
