- The innings was also the highest for Dravid as a captain putting into shade his 59 against Australia at Mumbai on 01-11-2003.

- Dravid completed his 8,000 runs for India when his score reached 46. He became the fourth Indian to do so after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin.

- Mohammad Kaif (78) made his highest score against Pakistan beating an unbeaten 71 at Lahore on 21-03-2004. It was also his highest score in India, bettering his 68 against Zimbabwe at Hyderabad on 16-03-2002.

- Afridi has now scored a half-century off 20 or less balls on three occasions. The other such occasions being - off 18 balls vs Sri Lanka at Nairobi Gym on 04-10-1996 and vs Netherlands at Colombo SSC on 21-09-2002. No other batsman has managed to score a 20-ball half-century on more than one occasion.

- Afridi's hundred came off only 45 balls, which is the joint second fastest hundred in ODIs after his 37-ball hundred against Sri Lanka at Nairobi on 04-10-1996) and along with Brian Lara, who had also taken 45 balls for his hundred against Bangladesh at Dhaka on 09-10-1999.

- This is now the fastest hundred against India. The previous record was held by another Pakistani Ijaz Ahmed, who needed 68 balls to race to three-figure mark at Lahore on 02-10-1997.

- During his innings Afridi also became the first batsman to hit 200 sixes in shorter version of the game when he hit Zaheer Khan over mid-wicket boundary for his sixth six.
