Ranbir Singh Mahendra on Wednesday was elected president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
He defeated Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar by 16-15 votes.
Mahendra won by the casting vote of outgoing Board President Jagmohan Dalmiya as both Mahendra and Pawar were tied at 15-15 in the voting.
S K Nair was re-elected BCCI secretary defeating Niranjan Shah by 17-13 votes.
Jyoti Bajpai was re-elected uncontested as treasurer. Gautam Dasgupta was elected joint secretary defeating Prof Ratnakar Shetty by 16-14 votes.
