Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, out of action for the last seven weeks because of an elbow injury, joined the Indian team on Monday ahead of the first cricket Test against Australia beginning in Bangalore on Wednesday.
Tendulkar is undergoing a rehabilitation programme under BCCI-appointed doctor Anant Joshi and team physio Andrew Leipus.
The Cricket Board, while announcing the team for the first two Tests on Friday, had said the medical report of Tendulkar stated that the batsman is "progressing well".
Tendulkar has been included in the 15-member Indian squad for the two Tests but BCCI Secretary S K Nair said his featuring in the opener would depend on match fitness.
