Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is doing a good job and there is no need to replace him, according to Australian cricketing great Steve Waugh.
"I don't see any reason to replace Sourav as he was instrumental in changing attitude of his teammates, especially while playing abroad," Waugh told reportersĀ in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
"Ganguly stood out as a leader in many adverse situations," the former Australian captain, who was here to promote schemes of Australian insurance company, ANP Sanmar, of which he is the brand ambassador, said.
To a query, Waugh said he did not regret failing to win the Test series in India in 2001.
"The series was fought hard. We (the Australians) learnt many lessons to emerge a stronger team," he added.
