Play on the third day of the first Test between India and South Africa is expected to start after lunch as foggy conditions gave way to sunshine at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur on Monday.
Officials hoped to commence play at 1210 IST as the dense fog that had delayed the start of play this morning began to clear about an hour ago.
Covers were removed and super sopper was used to drive away the dew in the outfield as mild sunshine replaced murky weather.
Earlier, the mist, which the locals said set only in December and as such was unusual in November, had reduced visibility to five metres in the morning.
South Africa were 459 for seven at close on second day with Shaun Pollock on 31 and Thami Tsolekile on five at the crease.
