Andrew Hall by taking 433 minutes to reach three figure-mark in theĀ first Test against India at Kanpur on Sunday recorded the second slowest Test hundred by a South African.

Jackie McGlew had taken 545 minutes to complete his century against Australia in 1957-58, which still remains the slowest ever hundred by a South African.

545 minutes Jackie McGlew (105) v Aus Durban 1957-58
433 minutes Andrew Hall (163) v Ind Kanpur 2004-05

Hall's hundred is now the fifth slowest Test hundred on Indian soil as is shown in the following table:
