Indian cricketers will be accorded high level security during the July 16-August 1 Asia Cup tournament in Sri Lanka in the aftermath of a suicide bombing attack in the Sri Lankan capital.
Indian Cricket Board Secretary S K Nair said BCCI would get in touch with the authorities in Sri Lanka on the attack, which took place near the plush Taj Samudra hotel where the Indian team is scheduled to stay.
"BCCI will get in touch with the Sri Lankan Board on this and maximum security will be provided to the Indian team," Nair said.
A rebel suicide bomber detonated explosives at a police station in Colombo, killing herself and four officers after being detected on a mission to assassinate a top moderate Tamil leader.
Police stopped the woman as she was trying to get inside the office of Douglas Devananda, a top Tamil leader who is opposed to the LTTE.
