VVS Laxman notched up a career best 131 against Zimbabwe at Adelaide. This was his second hundred in successive innings. Laxman scored an unbeaten 106 against Australia at Sydney in the last one-dayer on January 22. With this century he joins the select band of Indian batsmen who have scored back to back hundreds in limited-over internationals.
Laxman has now a golden opportunity to equal the world record for most successive hundreds. Three batsmen Pakistan's Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar; and South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs have scored hundreds in three successive innings.
