National cricket selection committee chairman and former wicket-keeper Syed Kirmani is confident that the Indian team would come back strongly and win the VB tri-series in Australia where they lost to the hosts in the opening day-night match.

"India's defeat in the first one-day match to Australia in the triangular series is not a matter of worry. The tournament is still open and the Indian team has fair chance to win the trophy," Kirmani told reporters at Patna on Monday.

Kirmani, who was here to attend the prize distribution ceremony of Narendra Mohan Memorial inter-Zone under-19 cicket tournament, also underlined the need for opening a "wicket-keeping academy for producing quality keepers for the national team."

"I am making efforts to establish a wicket-keeping academy on the lines of MRF Academy for bowlers and other premier coaching institutes for batsmen. BCCI is also thinking of opening a specialised coaching centre for wicket-keepers," he said.

Asked why the promising Bihar cricketer -- Rajiv Kumar Raza -- was not considered for the national team, he said "if he (Rajiv) keeps performing consistently, the selection committee would definitely consider his name."

Asked if the leg before wicket decisions should be referred to the third umpire, Kirmani replied in the negative saying there is no justification in doubting the umpire's decision on leg before wicket and referring it to the third umpire.
