Lee joins shame list

This is one record tearaway Aussie bowler Brett Lee [ Images ] will be most unwilling to lend his name to.

The express speedster on Sunday became only the second Australian bowler in 70 years to concede 200 runs in a Test innings.

Lee, who missed the first two matches of the four-Test series in Australia [ Images ] due to injuries, made a much hyped comeback in Melbourne [ Images ] but has failed to live up to to his reputation as a match-winner.

On the third day of the series-deciding fourth Test at Sydney [ Images ] today, Lee finished with four for 201 in 39.3 overs as India [ Images ] piled up a record 705 for seven before declaring their first innings.

Left-arm Aussie spin bowler Chuck Fleetwood-Smith holds the notorious record of conceding most runs in a Test innings of 1-298 off 87 overs against England [ Images ] at The Oval in 1938.

Lee was expected to rattle the pace-wary Indians with his 150 km/hr "chin music" but is now left with serious introspection to do about his technique and strategy.
