Irfan Pathan sets bowling record

Left-arm medium pacer Irfan Pathan [ Images ] became the second youngest Indian to capture a four-wicket match haul when he returned the figures of 4 for 24 against Zimbabwe at Perth.

Pathan's maiden four-wicket haul came at the age of 19 years and 99 days. Among the Indians only Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] has taken four wickets in a match at a younger age. Tendulkar was 18 years 182 days old while taking four for 34 against West Indies [ Images ] in a Wills Trophy match at Sharjah in 1991-92.

Pathan's effort was sufficient to win him Man of the Match award. He, in the course, became third youngest Indian player to win MoM award after Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh [ Images ].
