Dravid equals a world record

Rahul Dravid equalled a world record in the last league match of VB tri-series on Tuesday when he turned Blignaut to fine-leg for a single.

The single meant that Dravid has now played 119 consecutive innings without getting dismissed for a duck. This puts him at level with New Zealand's Martin Crowe, who also had a sequence of 119 consecutive 'duckless' innings.

Dravid has aggregated four ducks in his LOI career so far - 2 against Pakistan and one each against Australia and South Africa. He last failed to open his account in an Aiwa Cup game against Australia at Colombo (SSC) in August 1999.

New Zealand's Martin Crowe had a duckless sequence from the 1983-84 to 1992-93. Kepler Wessels holds the unique record of not recording a duck despite playing over 100 innings, albeit for two countries. Wessels played 51 innings for Australia and further 54 innings for South Africa without ever getting dismissed for a duck.
