In the Perth one-dayer against Australia on Sunday, the Indian lower order put up a commendable performance taking India from a precarious position of 79 for five to somewhat respectable total of 203. The highlight of the Indian innings was the tenth wicket stand of 31 runs between Murali Kartik and L Balaji, which was the highest stand of the innings. This has happened only 28 times in 2093 LOIs played till date, and on three occasions for India.

Out of 28 such occasions, only on two occasions the pairs putting-up highest tenth wicket stands of the innings have ended on the winning side. Both teams this feat was achieved for West Indies -- in 1975 and 1984 respectively. On all other occasions the concerned team suffered defeat.
