Coach John Wright said India's first Test victory on Pakistan soil in Multan on Thursday would rank among the top achievements of his cricketing career.

"Yes, there have been some fine achievements in the past two years but this one is special. It has a bit of history to  it and the boys wanted it," Wright, the first 'outsider' to coach the national team, said in Multan after India beat Pakistan  in the first of three Test by an innings and 52 runs.

Wright described the performance of the Indian team as 'magic'. He said the players worked hard and enjoyed their  cricket and hoped the fans back home, whom he described 'the best in the world', would be happy.

"Anil Kumble (who, returning from injury, took 6-72 in Pakistan's second innings) had a great tour of Australia and  the Pakistanis haven't played him for a long time.

"It was magic. Players like Yuvraj Singh and Akash Chopra, who took a great catch, they are natural and worked  hard.

"We have the best fans in the world. I hope they are happy (with the win)," he said.

Wright hoped Sourav Ganguly, who sat out of the match following a back injury in the one-day series and has been  ruled out of the second Test as well, would be back for the third Test in Rawalpindi beginning from April 13.

"He is going back home, hopefully he will back for the Rawalpindi Test," he said.
