Will Rahul Dravid keep wickets in the Limited Overs International series, starting October 23?

With injury ruling Sourav Ganguly out of the first two LOIs, also involving Australia, Dravid will lead India in the matches at Chennai and Gwalior, against New Zealand and Australia respectively.

"We will discuss with the selectors before the series begins. We have the option of Parthiv Patel keeping wickets, so it might be the both of us doing it," Dravid said.

With chairman of selectors Syed Kirmani intent on standing by his statement to have specialist keepers for both forms of the game, the debate about who will keep for the one-dayers continues.

Kirmani told rediff.com that Dravid is not the ideal choice to keep in the one-dayers.

The team management, however, believes that every top one-day team opts for keepers who can bat and make serious contributions to the side.

Former India keeper Sadanand Vishwanath said it is imperative that Dravid continues in the one-dayers as keeper to allow India to field seven batsmen.

Indeed, it is surprising how the selectors ignored Thilak Naidu despite his decent showing in the Challenger Series in Bangalore last month. Even Test discard Deep Dasgupta got a shot at staking his claim in the tour game against New Zealand.
