Mumbai gain vital lead

An unbeaten 93 by all-rounder Robin Morris helped Mumbai take a 127-run first innings lead over hosts Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' league cricket match at Lucknow on Tuesday.

Resuming at 126 for three, Mumbai posted 332 in reply to Uttar Pradesh's 205 at the K D Singh Babu stadium, Lucknow.

At close of play on day three, UP were 22 for the loss of Shivkant Shukla in their second innings.

After Vinod Kambli  was dismissed for 36, Morris helped the visitors extend their innings from 258 for eight with two crucial partnerships for the ninth and tenth wickets.

Morris' 93 came off 120 balls, and included 5 huge sixes and 6 fours. He added 74 with the last two wickets.

Praveen Gupta was the most successful bowler for UP with four wickets for 79 while Ashish Winston Zaidi and R P Singh picked two wicket each.
