Mumbai were 126 for three against Uttar Pradesh in the first innings on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' league match at Lucknow on Monday.
At stumps on Day 2, Bhavin Thakkar was batting on 27 with Vinod Kambli on 8 in reply to the hosts' first innings total of 205. Play ended 14 overs early due to bad light at the K D Singh Badu Stadium.
Vinayak Mane and Wasim Jaffer put on 50 runs for the first wicket before the former was bowled by Praveen Gupta for 25.
Jaffer followed soon after when he was caught by Ashish Zaidi off Gupta for 33. Amol Muzumdar, who joined Thakkar, made 23 before being bowled by R P Singh.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh, beginning on the overnight score of 169 for seven, lost their remaining wickets for the addition of only 36 runs.
Veteran Gyanendra Pandey remained unbeaten on an impressive 77, which contained six fours and came off 185 balls.
For Mumbai, Swapnil Hazare was the most successful bowler with three wickets while Robin Morris, Sairaj Bahutule and Onkar Khanwilkar claimed two wickets each.
