Maharashtra middle-order batsman Abhijit Kale today filed a case in a Pune court against the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Maharashtra Cricket Association, challenging his suspension from the game for allegedly trying to bribe national selectors to include him in the Indian team.

Balasahab Thorve, chairman of the MCA, confirmed that Kale had filed the case. "We have come to know of Kale filing the case," Thorve said. "We are consulting our lawyers to take appropriate action."
Kale was suspended by the BCCI after two selectors, Kiran More and Pranob Roy, filed a complaint against him, alleging that he offered them Rs 10 lakh each [approximately US $22,000] to include him in the Indian team for the tour of Australia.
