The Trans-Tasmanian rivalry between New Zealand and Australia will take place on Indian shores. Australian captain Ricky Ponting will be hoping to win the battle of minds against Kiwi skkiper Stephen Fleming.

Australia vs New Zealand
Fifth ODI

Australia needed two runs off the last three balls to win the tri-series match against New Zealand. Brad Williams was on strike and Jacob Oram the bowler. The big Kiwi medium-pacer bowled a well-disguised slower ball. Williams had a wild swing at it and only managed to get a thick edge straight to wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum, who dropped a sitter.

Off the very next ball, Andrew Symonds was dropped for the second time in the match. A powerfully hit shot went straight to the fielder at short mid-wicket. Another catch dropped, and the batsmen crossed over for a single, which gave Australia victory.
