Match referee Mike Procter issued a warning to Australia and India on Sunday to show more respect to umpires during the third Test, or face a possible fine.

The former South Africa Test all-rounder released a statement through Cricket Australia spokesman Jonathan Rose demanding an end to bowlers and fieldsmen launching loud appeals and celebrating before a decision is made.

"Any bowler or player who doesn't look for an umpire's decision when appealing will be reported under clause 1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct," Rose said.

"The penalty for a level one offence is a reprimand or a fine of up to 50 percent of a player's match fee."
