A fine century by Satyajit Parab dashed Delhi's hopes of recording their first outright win in the Ranji Trophy competition this season as their 'Elite' Group 'A' match against Baroda ended in a draw on Friday.

After being forced to follow-on -- they conceded a first innings lead of 287 -- Baroda reached 286 for three at close of play on the final day.

Parab's 126, Jacob Martin's unbeaten 69 and Rakesh Solanki's 65 came at a time when the host team needed it the most.

Had the trio not put up strong resistance, Delhi could have very well won the match.

The only consolation for Delhi was that they managed two points from the match for taking the first innings lead.

With the two points, Delhi's tally has gone up to four while Baroda also have four points.

Resuming at the overnight score of 11 for no loss, both overnight not out batsmen Parab and Connor Willimas took the total to 14 before Williams was caught behind the wicket off Amit Bhandari.

Solanki and Parab played cautiously to take the score to 82 for one at lunch.

After the break, Rakesh was stumped by Vijay Dahiya at his individual score of 65, which was studded with seven hits to the fence and a six.

A 115-run second-wicket stand between Parab and Solanki and 142 for the next wicket between Parab and Martin saved the match for the hosts.
