Forced to follow-on, hosts Baroda were struggling to save their Elite Group Ranji Trophy match against Delhi at Vadodara on Thursday.
Replying to Delhi's mammoth first innings score of 510 for seven declared, Baroda folded up for 223 despite a valiant 92 by Jacob Martin to trail the visitors by 287 runs.
In their second knock, Baroda were 11 without loss and still need 276 runs to save the match.
Resuming at their overnight score of 25 for one, Baroda batsmen Satyajit Parab and Rakesh Solanki added 36 runs for second wicket before Parab (38) was sent back. Solanki was back in the pavilion after scoring 46 runs.
Baroda captain Jacob Martin (92) prevented the collapse by keeping his wicket intact for 263 minutes. But the other batsmen collapsed in the face of some tight bowling by speedster Amit Bhandari and spinner Sarandeep Singh.
Dependable batsmen Nayan Mongia and Shatrunjay Gaekwad were also sent back when the scoreboard read 107 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Martin, batting sensibly, teamed up with Tushar Arothe to add valuable 57 runs for the sixth wicket.
This partnership was followed by Rakesh Patel's (19) runs 54-run stand for the seventh wicket with his captain. After Patel's departure, Martin could not survive and was out at 92.
Soon after his dismissal, Baroda lost remaining wickets quickly and the team was bowled out for 223.
Amit Bhandari bagged four wickets conceding 57 runs and Sarandeep Singh took three wickets giving 45 runs.
Baroda openers Connor Williams and Satyajit Parab were on 4 and 7 respectively when the stumps were drawn.
