Yuvraj Singh's 138 enabled Punjab take a crucial 75-run first innings lead over Delhi on the penultimate day of the 'Elite' Group 'A' Ranji Trophy cricket match, which is heading towards a draw, in Mohali on Wednesday.
In reply to Delhi's first innings score of 310, Punjab were cruising ahead at 240 for two before losing five wickets for 80 runs.
However, Chandan Madan (31) and Gagandeep Singh (23) contributed invaluable runs to help Punjab reach 385 in the first innings.
At stumps, Delhi were 72 without loss, with Salil Oberoi (26) and Rajat Bhatia (40) at the crease.
Earlier, resuming at 224 for 2, Punjab lost Pankaj Dharmani, who was caught by Ajay Jadeja off Rajat Bhatia after making 79.
Yuvraj Singh added 32 runs to his overnight score of 106 before he was caught at midwicket by Sarandeep Singh of the bowling of Sanjay Gill, who was the most successful Delhi bowler, with figures of four for 109.
