Attendance record of the 100-Test club

In the history of Test cricket, spanning over 125 years, there are 26 players who have the distinction of appearing in hundred or more Test matches, with the latest member being Sachin Tendulkar, who accomplished the coveted feat during the Oval Test against England.

Playing in a century of Test matches is indeed an achievement in itself, which speaks volume about a cricketer's consistency against all opponents from time to time, ability to play regularly for his country without any injuries, attitude towards the game, and, above all, to play the game in a gentleman's manner devoid of any controversies.

Keeping this in the backdrop, it is of paramount importance that players with such vast experience maintain a high standard of attendance and don't miss many matches.

From the elite list of 26 players, there are only three players -- Allan Border, Kapil Dev and Ian Healy -- who missed a solitary game. They had an attendance record of over 99 per cent. Our own Tendulkar stands fifth in the list, having missed three matches due to back trouble.

In fact, the first eight positions are occupied by Australians (five) and Indians (three) while the last four positions are held by Englishmen!.

Following are details of attendance of all players who have appeared in hundred or more Tests, arranged in the order of percentage of attendance:
