Haryana to build Rs 500 million IT facility at Gurgaon

communication services are being proposed, Minister of State for Electronics Bhimsain Mehta said has said.

Forty independent sheds have been constructed at Gurgaon at a cost of Rs 65 million for electronics and software industry and possession has been handed over in the current financial year.

As many as 25 more sheds have also been constructed at the same site and would be allotted as per the new industrial policy of the government.

He said that an electronics hardware technology park spread over 50 acres has been set up by the Haryana Urban Development Authority in consultation with the HARTON at Gurgaon.

He said that the corporation would prepare identity cards for left-out voters in Haryana. It is providing online preparation of identity cards for voters of Chandigarh and this facility would continue during the current financial year.

Mehta said that the HARTON has trained 2,250 rural girls in electronics and computers under the Norwegian Agency for International Development scheme funded by the union ministry of social welfare. A grant of Rs 23.1 million has been sanctioned by the Union human resource development ministry for training 3,500 girls in the field of electronics, computers and repair of electrical home appliances.

The training in electronics and repair of electrical home appliances had already been initiated from April this year and would continue until 1999-2000.

He said that HARTON had also set up an instruments designs development and facilities centre at Ambala.
