Top-Down Investing

The logic behind this investment philosophy is that if you can successfully predict the direction of the economy, you will be able to pick up the sectors with potential.

Basically, a top-down investor will first look at the overall economic picture, then at specific sectors before narrowing down on any stock.

It is the opposite of the Bottom-Up approach.
