Merchant Banker & Promoter

Promoter is the company that is coming out with the issue. In other words, the company that is going public.

The merchant banker is in charge of the issue process. Merchant bankers act as intermediaries between the company and the investors. They are responsible for:

  • Drawing up the prospectus
  • Marketing the issue
  • Ensuring that the company follows the rules laid down for an IPO
  • That it has made available all the information a potential investor needs to know
  • The facts in the prospectus are correct.
